and various performing projects in London, Europe, and the U.S.A.
Running jazz workshops, giving individual tuition as well as composing and writing a jazz theory book.
Tony's return to Leicester to run his own workshops saw him return to his own musical roots.
Local
artists performed their own composition, Sankofa, an exciting new piece of African
Jazz music
featuring vocalists, percussionists, and horn players. The result of the workshops
were played in Black History Season as support to Mac Tontoh at The Y on Sunday
8th November. This was so successful that this was repeated as support to
Salif Keita,
at De Montfort Hall, Thursday November 9th. |
